Resumen
Esta investigación se plantea como objetivo identificar los conceptos, habilidades y actitudes ciudadanas de estudiantes de cuarto año medio de un establecimiento educacional de la comuna de Lota. Esto se realiza mediante una metodología cuantitativa (Escala Likert). Lo anterior permite identificar importantes diferencias entre estudiantes y las variables que inciden en ellas. Los resultados muestran diferencias en los resultados por sexo, modalidad de educación y curso; a lo que agregan como resultados generales la existencia de un concepto de estado asociado a su rol social; un concepto de ciudadanía asociado al movimiento social; una mayor confianza en los medios de comunicación por sobre las instituciones relacionadas con el gobierno.

Abstract
The aim of this research is to identified the civics concepts, skills and attitudes of fourth grade adolescents in the educational establishment of Lota. This is developed through a quantitative methodology (Likert scale). The previous point, allows to identified relevant differences between students and the variables that affect them. The results show clear differences in outcomes by gender, course and education modality; to which we add as general results the presence of a concept of the state more associated with their social role, the presence of a concept of citizenship associated to a social movement concept, greater confidence in the media over the government-related institutions and the general awareness about their rights and the rights of others.
