Resumen
El presente estudio pretende establecer los ámbitos de investigación que con mayor frecuencia son examinados por los investigadores en educación, en tres (3) revistas escritas en inglés. Los criterios de acceso están basados en 4 categorías pre-establecidas: objetivo de investigación, tema, método, y contexto/muestra. Durante el proceso de análisis de los datos, se incluyó 2 categorías emergentes: los investigadores que generan el conocimiento y su procedencia geográfica (autores y continente). El enfoque del estudio es cuantitativo con un componente cualitativo, recopilándose la información de las publicaciones de la Web of Science (WoS), Índice de Citación de las Ciencias Sociales 2014. Un total de 71 artículos fueron analizados extraídos de estas revistas. Los resultados mostraron que los estudios están centrados en 3 ámbitos: la sociedad en el contexto actual, enfoque didáctico para el logro del aprendizaje, y lingüística y estudio del lenguaje, siendo este último el más frecuente.

Abstract
The present study aims to establish the scopes which are mostly examined by researchers in the field of education, in three (3) journals written in English. The criteria considered are based on 4 pre-established categories: objective of the research, topic, method and participants/sample. Then, while the analysis kept on going, two emerging categories were included: the people who are producing the knowledge and the geographical origin of them (authors and continent). This research was developed using a quantitative method with a qualitative component, the data was collected from the Source Publication List For Web of Science (WoS), Social Sciences Citation Index 2014. There were 71 articles analyzed taken from these journals. The results showed that the studies are centered in 3 scopes: society in the actual context, didactic approach for learning, and linguistic and language study, being this last the most frequent one.
